As part of their continued expansion strategy for the China region they are seeking a high caliber HR Leader to manage a 10 person HR team (3 direct) reporting to the CEO of the China business.
Role Profile
Based in Shanghai, the HR Leader is an integral part of the Regional Leadership team supporting the entire China business and providing expertise in the areas of recruitment, talent management, employee relations, compensation, coaching and workforce planning. Ideal candidates possess hands-on experience supporting a similar MNC / JV in the area of change management and a track record of working in a business partnership relationship with key stakeholders.
The HR Leader operates in a business partnership to ensure optimization of talent and leadership while delivering on core HR services. They will become a key advisor and strategic business partner to the organization by providing employee relations support, guidance and direction, translating business needs into learning strategies and implementing initiatives to help drive revenue and leverage sales growth.
Other key areas of responsibility will include;
Training/Presentations - Is a key influencer on priorities and key HR initiatives and handles internal communications and written communications to regional management team.
Talent Management - Plays an integral role in the talent assessment process for the organization and in the development of hi-potential employees and develops plans with leaders to retain key talent, build succession plans, and career development paths.
HR Generalist - Is a true HR generalist and develops a coaching relation within the organization to provide guidance on performance management, development, employee relations, job evaluation and compensation.
Qualifications & Qualities
- University Degree or College Diploma required in a relevant subject
- Fully business fluent in English and Mandarin
- 10-12 years Human Resources related experience in China ¨C with MNC exposure and previous JV integration experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment standards legislation and HR best practices
- Proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong business acumen
- Team player with a high degree of self motivation as well as the ability to motivate and inspire employees
- Creative and innovative approach to problem solving with the ability to make decisions
- Outstanding planning, organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills: i.e. verbal (individual and group presentations) and written
- Knowledge of Chinese employment standards legislation and HR Best Practices
- Occasional international travel, regular travel within China
